Redesigning the Way Things Get Delivered

The Problem
Most delivery apps prioritize customers, leaving riders with clunky dashboards, poor payment tracking, and limited support.
What I Noticed
Apps like Bolt and Gokada offer services but neglect the rider experience interfaces are confusing, and earnings lack clarity.
The Goal
Design a delivery app that works for both sides:
→ Senders need a reliable, simple way to book deliveries
→ Riders need better tools, clearer pay tracking, and more control
Design Approach
Dual-Sided Experience
Because Pica Bike serves both riders and senders, the design needed to support two parallel experiences:
For Riders: A live task dashboard, trip navigation, earnings overview, and delivery history
For Users: A fast way to book, track, and choose from available riders plus easy communication
Mapping the Flow
Using insights from early interviews, I sketched out basic flows for each side of the app:
– Riders see available trips, accept requests, view earnings, and navigate deliveries
– Users can schedule deliveries, select drivers, and get real-time updates
These flows were refined into wireframes, then tested with real users.
Designing the UI
Inspired by logistics apps like Uber and Bolt, I used clean layouts, simple icons, and color-coded status updates to keep the interface friendly and intuitive. Emphasis was placed on clarity, speed, and trust especially when handling live deliveries.

What’s Next
There’s more to explore for Pica Bike Riders:
– Add savings goals and incentives
– Offer clearer earning summaries
– Expand into services like microloans or insurance
Even small changes are making a big impact and designing for riders has been both rewarding and inspiring.
Enjoy the prototype!
